Bishop issues pastoral changes Jan. 30
Bishop Anthony B. Taylor announced the following pastoral appointments, Jan. 30, 2024, for the Diocese of Little Rock: Effective Feb. 1: Deacon Matthew A. Glover, JD, JCL, assigned to minister as deacon of St. Theresa Church in Little Rock. This is in addition to his current responsibilities as deacon of Christ the King Church in Little Rock and as chancellor for canonical affairs for the Diocese of Little Rock; Rev. Catholic schools in Arkansas celebrate
Catholic Schools Week is observed nationwide Jan. 28 to Feb. 3. Catholic schools will celebrate the week with special Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and the community. Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to the Church, communities and the nation. Worldwide Marriage Encounter is Feb. 9-11
Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME) will be held from 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11 at Coury House Retreat Center on the grounds of Subiaco Abbey. It is designed to help married couples spend time together, away from the distractions and tensions of everyday life, where they can focus on each other and their relationship and reconnect privately. Women, men invited to focus on faith days
Special days to focus on faith for women and men will be held at Christ the King Church in Little Rock leading up to the Lenten season. Both encourage participants throughout Arkansas and beyond to attend and will offer guest speakers, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, reconciliation and Mass. The Women of Hope, A Day of Retreat will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, and the Arkansas Catholic Men’s Conference will be held Super Bowl Saturday, Feb. 10. Bishop Anthony B. Diocese to reopen at 10:30 a.m., Jan. 18
The offices of the Catholic Diocese of Little Rock will reopen Thursday, Jan. 18 at 10:30 a.m., and will return to regular office hours, 8:30 to 5 p.m., by Friday, Jan. 19. The campus was closed Jan. 16-17 because of a winter storm. The Inclement Weather Policy was in effect for diocesan staff, and continues for those unable to safety return on Thursday, Jan. 18. 2024 MLK Memorial Mass to be Jan. 13
Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will celebrate the 37th annual Diocese of Little Rock Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Mass at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock. During the Mass he will present the Daniel Rudd Award to a Black Catholic who is active in his or her parish and community during the Mass. All are invited to attend.
