St. Scholastica Monastery

Order of St. Benedict (OSB)

(En Español)

St. Scholastica Monastery was founded in 1879 when four sisters from Ferdinand, Indiana settled in Shoal Creek, Arkansas. In 1925, the community moved to Fort Smith, where they continue to thrive. Through the years the Benedictine sisters have been teachers, nurses, pastoral ministers, social justice advocates, artists and authors. They continue to discern their call to follow God by “listening with the ear of their heart,” and looking forward to continued years of service. For more information, visit St. Scholastica Monastery.
