Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will open a new Divine Mercy Shrine for the Diocese of Little Rock on Sunday, June 11, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi). The special celebration will begin with a bilingual Mass at 12:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock. Participants will then process one mile to St. Edward Church where Bishop Taylor will bless the new image of the Divine Mercy and lead the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Bishop Anthony B. Taylor announced the following pastoral appointments, May 1, 2023, for the Diocese of Little Rock. Effective May 3: Rev. James Burnie, CSSp, relieved of his responsibilities as pastor of St. Mary Church in Saint Vincent (Hattieville) to begin retirement; Msgr. Jack D. Harris appointed pastor of St. Mary Church in Saint Vincent (Hattieville). All are invited to attend the Eucharistic Revival Day of their choice. One will be held at St. Raphael Church in Springdale on Saturday, June 3 and the second will be held at Christ the King Church in Little Rock on Saturday, June 10. These events will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and follow the same schedule and events. Both are part of the National Eucharistic Revival, a movement to restore understanding and devotion to the Eucharist in the United States by helping us renew our worship of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. Five deacons will celebrate their 30th anniversary as deacons on Monday, April 24. They were ordained by the late Bishop Andrew J. McDonald on April 24, 1993. Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will celebrate Mass at 9 a.m. to begin the Fifth Grade Vocations Day Wednesday, April 26, for nearly 300 students at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Little Rock. The day will also include workshops led by priests, deacons and religious brothers and sisters, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and a tour of the seminarian House of Formation, located on the parish grounds.
