Mass, March for Life to be held Jan. 22
Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will celebrate the annual Mass for Life at 12:05 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 22 at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in downtown Little Rock. Prior to the Mass, a Rosary for Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Anyone who has lost a child, for any reason, will be able to present a rose during the offertory in memory of their child. There is no need to bring roses; they will be made available at the Mass. Each year, this Mass is celebrated to mark the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions that legalized abortion in the United States. ... More
Register for confirmation retreat by Jan. 23
The 2017 Diocese of Little Rock Confirmation Retreat will be held Sunday, Feb. 5 at St. John Catholic Center in Little Rock. This peer-led event is open to Catholic youth who are preparing to receive the sacrament of confirmation and are unable to attend a confirmation retreat in their own parishes. This year's theme is: "He is the Way to the Spirit". The $15 per person registration fee includes lunch and all materials. It will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude with Mass. 2017 MLK Memorial Mass to be Jan. 14
The 31st annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Mass will be held at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock. Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will be the main celebrant. The Mass is sponsored by the Diocesan Council for Black Catholics. Christmas offering goes to retired priests
Show your appreciation for our 16 retired priests by contributing to the Clergy Welfare Fund in a special collection to be taken up at all Masses in Arkansas on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This fund provides for the care of our elderly and infirm priests in the Diocese of Little Rock. The Christmas collection is the primary source of income for the Clergy Welfare Fund. Men, women invited to discern God's call
The Diocese of Little Rock will host retreats for both men and women to discern religious vocations in December and January in Fletcher Hall on the campus of St. John Catholic Center in Little Rock. The Vocations and Seminarians Office will offer its annual Come and See Retreat for men interested in discerning a vocation to the priesthood on Dec. 30-31.
