Retrouvaille, a program designed to help heal and renew troubled and hurting marriages, consists of a weekend experience followed by a series of 6 to 12 post-weekend sessions over a three-month period. It provides tools to help couples with troubled marriages to heal. The main emphasis of the program is on communication between husband and wife. It gives couples the opportunity to rediscover each other and examine their lives together in a new and positive way. Separated and divorced couples are also encouraged to attend. The Diocese of Little Rock will host a one-day Senior High Youth Rally Sunday, Oct. 15 at Mount St. Mary Academy in Little Rock. This year’s theme, “Faith Conquers Doubt,” will be presented by Jon Leonetti. The event will include praise and worship, presentation by Leonetti, lunch and Mass. The cost is $30 a person. Catechetical Sunday will be celebrated Sept. 17 in Catholic parishes across the United States. On this day, parish religion and Catholic school teachers are commissioned to share their ministry for the 2017-2018 school year. In addition, a special collection will be taken up to support catechetical ministry in the Diocese of Little Rock. Half of the collection remains in the parish, while the other goes to support catechetical ministry needs in Catholic parishes across Arkansas. Classes in the St. Andrew School of Evangelization are being offered this fall to help participants go out into the world and proclaim the Good News. This program is offered on the parish level and is available to children 4-12, youth 13-17 and adults 18 and older. See our Calendar of Events to find details on courses, dates and locations. Little Rock Theology Institute, a three-year academic program for adults in the Diocese of Little Rock, will not be offered to new students during the 2017-18 academic year because of low enrollment. The registration deadline was Aug. 14. Father Erik Pohlmeier, diocesan director of faith formation, said all new students who had already enrolled will receive a refund.
