Bishop Anthony B. Taylor announced the following pastoral appointments, July 20, 2022, for the Diocese of Little Rock. Effective Aug. 15: Rev. Gregory Pilcher, OSB, relieved of his responsibilities as pastor of St. Scholastica Church in New Blaine to return to monastic life at Subiaco Abbey; and Rev. The deadline to request tickets to attend the episocopal ordination Mass of Bishop-elect Erik Pohlmeier has been extended to July 10 or until they are gone. Previously it was June 24. The Little Rock pastor and diocesan faith formation director will be ordained Friday, July 22 at St. Joseph Church in Jacksonville, Fla. Attendees can also choose to ride on a chartered bus from Little Rock and stay in a hotel room block secured by the Diocese of Little Rock. Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will celebrate a Mass of thanksgiving Tuesday, June 28 to honor four priests who are celebrating 25, 50 and 60 years of priestly service in the Diocese of Little Rock. It will be held at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock at 5:30 p.m., followed by a dinner reception in McDonald Hall. The public is invited to attend the Mass and dinner. The following report, "Synod on Synodality Synthesis for Diocese of Little Rock," was submitted to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, May 16, 2022, to be included in the final report in preparation for the Synod on Synodality in 2023. Taylor will begin the Diocese of Little Rock's observance of the National Eucharistic Revival by celebrating an opening Mass at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, June 18, on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. The Respect Life Office offers respect life grants to help support groups and organizations in the Diocese of Little Rock that promote a consistent ethic of life. Grants between $100 and $1,000 are awarded at the discretion of Bishop Anthony B. Taylor and are dependent on the availability of funds. Groups and organizations applying for a respect life grant are invited to reflect on how their mission and ministry promotes greater respect for the dignity of the human person and embraces a consistent ethic of life.
