"The Diocese of Little Rock, Arkansas, announces the sale of its groundbreaking and renowned Little Rock Scripture Study (LRSS) to longtime partner Liturgical Press. Patrick Gallaher, director of Catholic Charities of Arkansas (CCA), released the following update on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, regarding CCA's response to damage caused by the historic flooding along the Arkansas River. "During the week of May 21, a ridge of high pressure built over the southeastern United States. In that week, 6 to 12 inches of rain fell in parts of the plains and Midwest, impacting northeast Oklahoma requiring dam releases from already high lakes. This resulted in widespread flooding, and produced record-breaking crests downstream along the Arkansas River. ... More

The Respect Life Office offers respect life grants to help support groups and organizations in the Diocese of Little Rock that promote a consistent ethic of life. Grants between $100 and $1,000 are awarded at the discretion of Bishop Anthony B. Taylor and are dependent on the availability of funds. Groups and organizations applying for a respect life grant are invited to reflect on how their mission and ministry promotes greater respect for the dignity of the human person and embraces a consistent ethic of life. Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will ordain Deacon Jon Miskin to the priesthood at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 25 at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock. A reception will follow the ordination Mass in McDonald Hall. The night before, on Friday, May 24, a holy hour will be held for Miskin at 6:30 p.m. at the Cathedral. Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) at the Diocese of Little Rock awards a limited number of small grants to provide financial assistance to organizations whose efforts are aimed at serving the needs of low-income people. Projects eligible for funding can either be direct service-oriented, or aimed at institutional change. Applications are accepted without regard to religious denomination.
