Lenten retreat offers silence with God
Deepen your friendship with the Lord in sacred stillness and quiet through the Ignatian Silent Directed Retreat March 15-18 at St. John Catholic Center in Little Rock. This Lenten faith formation program for adults will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday and end on Sunday at noon. Participants will learn about silent prayer and how to seek God and his plan for their lives in the sacred silence. Bishop joins 40 Days for Life in prayer
Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will lead the Stations of the Cross during the Lenten campaign of 40 Days for Life Friday, March 9 in Little Rock. Bishop sends letter urging DACA protection
Bishop Anthony B. Taylor released the following letter, which was sent, Feb. 2, 2018, to Arkansas’ senators and representatives in Washington to ask them to pass legislation to protect DACA recipients. The bishop is also encouraging all Catholics to write or call the U.S. senators and their representative to vote in favor of a “clean” DACA bill. “I am writing to urge you to pass a clean Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) bill in February that will include a path to citizenship. Immigration suggestion: File I-130 petition
Catholic Charities Immigration Services issued the following statement, Feb. 2, 2018, regarding President Donald Trump’s family immigration proposal. “We suggest U.S. citizens who have parents, children 21 years of age or older, married children and siblings who do not have legal status in the USA to file an I-130 petition on their behalf, so they can start the process to immigrate to the United States. CASA supports the ministries that help those in need, evangelize, educate and care for the flock across the Diocese of Little Rock. The 2018 campaign begins Feb. 3-4 in parishes across Arkansas. The 2018-2019 school calendar for Catholic schools was recently released by the Office of Catholic Schools. The calendar has two snow days included. Dates marked with an asterisk apply to all Catholic schools in the state. The first day and last days of school and Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks can vary across the state. Bishop publishes book on Blessed Rother
“Blessed Stanley Francis Rother: The First American Martyr,” a new book by Bishop Anthony B. Taylor, is now available for purchase. The bilingual book is an informative and inspiring account of the life and death of the Oklahoma priest who was murdered for his faith in 1981 in Guatemala. It was adapted from an extensive audio-visual presentation created by Bishop Taylor. Bishop releases letter about March for Life
Bishop Anthony B. Taylor released the following letter to the people of the Diocese of Little Rock Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, regarding the March for Life. "This is to remind you of the two Masses for Life to be offered at the Cathedral of St. Andrew this Sunday, Jan. 21 as we pray for an end to abortion on this 45th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion on demand in this country.
